This year in hobby photography was the antithesis of 2024. Last year included meticulously planned travel with a fair amount of spontaneity to keep me honest, but 2025 was very much the year of the emergency gtfo-the-house to breathe kind of shooting. The travel was all pretty last minute. The weekend adventures felt like they were a deep breath of self-preservation. Shots of the Northern Lights are a bit of a mad scramble by default, but even that late-night on the Eastern Shore of Maryland felt like it was taking more from my cup than it was giving.

All that aside, I’m thrilled to share these images. From where I stand today, each shot does feel rejuvenating and is a testament that I can still find beauty in the craziness.
